ACEL Group Enters the Icelandic Market, Establishes subsidiary and secures long-term strategic partnership with Samherji
ACEL Group will act as an electrical integrator for the first project phase at Salmon Garden, one of Europe’s largest land-based aquaculture facilities, located on Reykjanes, Iceland. The contract covers engineering, material supply, and electrical works on site. This agreement will secure stable activity for several years. ACEL Group will provide Samherji Fiskeldi with innovative, industry leading solutions that will provide safe, efficient and long-term value creation.
ACEL assumes the overall responsibility for the coordination, integration and performance of the electrical infrastructure across the facility. This includes ensuring seamless interaction between power distribution, control systems and process equipment, delivering a robust and future ready platform for large-scale land-based aquaculture.
Through its engineering expertise and system integration capabilities, ACEL will play a central role in ensuring technical reliability, operational efficiency and scalable solutions aligned with the project’s long-term ambitions.

ACEL Group establishes subsidiary ACEL Iceland
To support Samherji Fiskeldi’s project and strengthen its international presence, ACEL Group has established ACEL Iceland. The contract represents a significant step in ACEL’s targeted strategy, reinforcing the company’s position in international markets. The establishment of ACEL Iceland enables the company to serve the Icelandic aquaculture sector and maritime industries in the future.

ACEL Iceland & Recruitment
The establishment of ACEL Iceland creates new opportunities to grow the team in a targeted way both in Iceland and across existing locations. ACEL is strengthening its recruitment focus beyond the Ålesund region and will consider candidates from across Norway as well as applicants who want to build their career locally in Iceland. Some roles will be based in Iceland, while others may be based in Norway with travel and close collaboration with the Icelandic team.

About Samherji Fiskeldi
The Salmon Garden project is being developed by Samherji Fiskeldi, a subsidiary of Icelandic seafood group Samherji. Once fully operational, the facility will have an annual production capacity of up to 36,000 tonnes of market-ready salmon. The first construction phase will cover 12,000 tonnes. Samherji fiskeldi have operated land based farming for over 20 years and currently operates three land-based farming facilities. Last year production was 5.800 tonnes.
